# About Spenco

Built so your money app never has to sell you out.

## Why Spenco exists

Managing money in India means statements scattered across emails, half a dozen bank apps, and a spreadsheet you stopped updating in March. Every app that promised to fix this ended up a rear-view mirror — charts of money already gone — or worse, a loan funnel. Walnut became a lending app. Fi shut down. The pattern repeats because free finance apps have to monetise you somehow. We built Spenco to look the other way: forward. It forecasts your burn rate, EMI dates, SIP deductions, and salary cycle, so month-end stops being a surprise.

## How we make money

You pay us. That's the whole model. Spenco's Starter plan — transactions, insights & analytics, a basic dashboard, the auto email parser, and limited AI chat — is genuinely useful and free for your first year, then ₹499 a year. Pro and the one-time Founder plan add the forecast dashboard, net worth tracker, and unlimited AI chat; they're not on sale yet, but when they are, they'll be paid subscriptions, not ad networks, lending partners, or data brokers. Most finance apps are free because you are the product — we flipped it, so paid plans fund the company instead of your data.

## What we believe

Your financial data is yours — export it or delete it any time, no questions asked. Forecasts beat reports: knowing what happens next is worth more than a prettier chart of last month. And software you pay for should respect you — no dark patterns, no spam, no upsell to loans you don't need.

## Who's building this

**Akash Ranjan** — Founder

I built Spenco because I wanted it to exist: one place that reads the statements, reconciles the accounts, and answers the only question that matters — what happens next month. Questions, doubts, security concerns? Ask me directly.
